The teaching is going to be basically focused on what The URANTIA Book has to say about fear. When I started doing this study, I realized that fear is referred to many times in The URANTIA Book; in fact, “fear” and its derivatives, are referred to 448 times. What comes across to me is that fear is an integral part of almost every human being on this planet. Fear has many faces, many facets, and there are many reasons for it. The whole teaching will be based around a piece from The URANTIA Book on page 1192:03 and various statements regarding fear throughout the book.

The Thought Adjusters would like to change your feelings of fear to convictions of love and confidence; but they cannot mechanically and arbitrarily do such things; that is your task. In executing those decisions which deliver you from the fetters of fear, you literally supply the psychic fulcrum on which the Adjuster may subsequently apply a spiritual lever of uplifting and advancing illumination.

We know from previous teachings that we have this beautiful gift of the fragment of the Father within us, the Thought Adjuster, but that Thought Adjuster cannot do anything with us unless we cooperate. It is our task, and it is our responsibility. We also know from past teachings that life and living mean constant movement, vibration, change, growth, expansion, evolution from simplicity to complexity—ascension. Being alive means progressing more and more into your Father-bestowed personality circuitry. Living as a human means making a metamorphosis from existing in primitive fear to a faith in God; a faith in His love, His order, His procedure, His involvement with you as a flowering child of His. Fear disables us from truly being alive in divine pattern, from unfoldment into our personality circuitry. According to The URANTIA Book, fear is a mental poison that interferes with the spiritual progress of the evolving soul. Just from what was reported today about the tragedies that are happening on this planet, you get the impression that almost every single person—whether they are in a leadership position making decisions that impact hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of people, or whether they are individuals in a place where they are being impacted by those decisions of leaders—almost everyone is motivated by fear of some kind in most of their decision making. Obviously, when people are coming from a place like that, then they aren’t making the highest decisions.Fear originated with human beings in their evolution from the animal state, but fear became quite sophisticated when Lucifer rebelled, and any person who has accepted any of the Lucifer manifesto has brought even a more sophisticated and complex fear into their lives. That kind of fear is basically an isolation from God. The URANTIA Book does emphasize that the majority of people on this planet are victims of fear. What does the word victim mean exactly? It means that fear blocks our true living, our growth into that personality circuitry. The majority of people walking around are at a plateau, or they are even regressing in their fear, but they are not really living from a celestial spirit perspective; they are just merely existing. If you are not moving forward, you are not alive. If you are not tapped into that spirit of God and you are not tapped into the realization of who you are as a child of God, you are not really alive. That is why Jesus said often, “Believe in me and you will be reborn, you will be born again.” You have to be born again into life, because somewhere along the way, after your first physical birthing you made decisions that kept you from really truly living, even though maybe the body was basically aging, rather than growing and moving forward.

The URANTIA Book uses these terms in describing victims of fear: “Those misled by fear and pride,” “fear-ridden souls,” “people bound up by the depressions of fear,” “fear-burdened souls,” “many stumble in fear,” “the masses who are in the bondage of fear,” “persons confused by fear,” “those who walk in fear consciousness,” “many people have fear-tossed minds,” “souls enslaved in primitive fear and dread.”

What are those fearful feelings? What do we fear? Well, there is the fear for survival, and there is the fear of abandonment, fear of ridicule, fear of not mattering to anyone, fear of death, fear of growing old, fear of losing one’s identity, fear of getting caught, fear of wrongdoing and displeasing someone you love (whether the beloved is God or human), fear of change, fear of the unknown, fear for the safety of those that you love; and we can go on and on with many other fears.

Several of you here have seen the movie Phenomenon. According to the Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition, the definition of phenomenon is:

An observable fact or event; an object or aspect known through the senses rather than by thought or intuition; a temporal or spatial temporal object of sensory experience; a fact or event of scientific interest susceptible to scientific description and explanation; a rare or significant fact or event; [and the last definition:] an exceptional, unusual, or abnormal person, thing, or occurrence.

In that film, George, the main character, was a very ordinary person in intelligence and an extraordinary person in his humility, his generosity, his love, and his spontaneity. He was just a real human being, and because of that, he was loved very much by the small community that he lived in, and they were his family. When he made a quantum leap—all of a sudden he became smart, became different, and he was excited about it, but he also feared it, and all of those people who loved him so much feared him because he was no longer who they were used to. What is interesting is that the scientific world feared him too, so they chose to not look at him as a human but as an observable fact or event. They treated him as an object or event of scientific interest; they wanted to experiment on him, and they didn’t want to treat him as a human being. The three people who really cared for him, and in the end stuck by him, had a little bit of a higher understanding: the physician who considered him to be his son, his good friend who had the ham radio, and the woman he was in love with, but all three of those special people also feared him and didn’t quite know what to do with him, even though they remained loyal to him. Often family, friends, and acquaintances react with fear, distrust, and disappointment when someone they know goes through some major change, some form of transformation.That movie, as well as the two movies I discussed last week, The Scarlet Letter and Powder, basically deal with how extraordinary people have to deal with the fear of others. These extraordinary people, if they were allowed to develop their gifts, if they were allowed to be who they really are, if their family, friends, neighbors, and the world would allow them to develop and evolve into what God had destined them to become, would have brought great gifts to the world, and possibly the whole planet could have made tremendous quantum leaps in its evolution. Generation after generation after generation for more than two hundred thousand years on Urantia, extraordinary people have been and are held back by the fear of others. If, in the movie, Phenomenon, George had not allowed others’ fear to affect him, he would not have had to die; that tumor on his brain was the tumor of fear, and that made the people who feared him more comfortable because it explained why all of a sudden he got smart. But in reality, the destiny for any of us who can begin to open up our circuitry is that we can get much smarter than we are. Revelation can also do that, but if we allow others’ fear and our own fear to impact us, we too can develop those tumors of fear that will stop us from truly living.

Where does fear come from? The URANTIA Book says that fear originates in the animal instincts and mind and contributes actually to the survival of a species. Primal fear is biologic and has to do with physical survival with the mindal, social, and spiritual evolution of humans. Fear moves from basic animal instinct, survival fear, to fear of the unknown, and thus evolutionary religion is born based on primitive fear and false superstitious beliefs. As evolutionary religion progresses, fear of the unknown is changed to fear of God. In divine pattern, as people continue to ascend in all areas, higher evolutionary religion is replaced by revelatory religion, and that revelation of true cosmic facts facilitates spiritual growth; with that real spiritual growth fear moves into a healthier fear of God.

I highly recommend Jesus’ uplifting teaching on the fear of the Lord. It is in The URANTIA Book on pages 1675 to 1677. On page 986:03 of The URANTIA Book, we are told:

Evolutionary religion is born of a simple and all-powerful fear, the fear which surges through the human mind when confronted with the unknown, the inexplicable, and the incomprehensible. Religion eventually achieves the profoundly simple realization of an all-powerful love, the love which sweeps irresistibly through the human soul when awakened to the conception of the limitless affection of the Universal Father for the sons [and daughters] of the universe.

Unfortunately, today on Urantia, most people are still primitive humans in relation to the psyche. Most people are basically motivated by fear. They are scuttling around trying to find a place of security and safety, and they are still grasping onto evolutionary religion. Until they can move into the Fifth and Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation, they will still be wallowing in superstitions and evolutionary religions. It’s very sad that here in the United States the people are so hungry and so lost that they are tapping into older evolutionary religions and are literally going backwards. There is much beauty and truth in these primitive evolutionary religions, but you have to go beyond them. If you use them to open up a doorway you can walk through and get out of your materialistic and mechanistic lifestyle, wonderful, but then move on. Move on. Unfortunately, that is not happening with a lot of people. There are many very superficial and simplistic books that are best sellers on the New Age lists. What is so tragic is that The URANTIA Book should have become a best seller in 1956; but because of the state of our planet and where people are in their primitive state, The URANTIA Book terrified people. They were afraid of it because it presented new and challenging information, as well as expanding on older known religious truths that often shook the foundations of “religious” people.Here are powerful statements from The URANTIA Book about fear:

Fear and anger weaken the character and destroy happiness. (p. 1573:08)If you were not blinded by prejudice and misled by fear and pride, you would easily perceive that one who is greater than devils stands in your midst. (p. 1714:02)

I have noticed that fear and pride often go together. Think about that; why is fear connected with pride, or pride with fear?

Too often, all too often, you mar your minds by insincerity and sear them with unrighteousness; you subject them to animal fear and distort them by useless anxiety. (p. 103:05)

How can a Thought Adjuster work in a distorted mind, a mind twisted and poisoned by fear and anxiety?

Few persons live up to the faith which they really have. Unreasoned fear is a master intellectual fraud practiced upon the evolving mortal soul. (p. 556:04)

Who is the master of your mind? If you are in divine procedure in your mind, then you are connected with the cosmic mind and the Thought Adjuster. The fragment of the Father is the master of your mind, but all too often fear is our master. Even here, at the First Planetary Sacred Home we can become overpowered by a moment of fear that masters us temporarily.

All too many of man’s troubles take origin in the fear soil of his own natural heart. (p. 1674:05)They [The Apostles] had made the important discovery that many human perplexities are in reality non-existent, that many pressing troubles are the creations of exaggerated fear and the offspring of augmented apprehension. (p. 1611:04)

We all could laugh because we can recognize that in ourselves. The URANTIA Book talks about humor, and one of the aspects of humor in higher worlds is looking back at your past, and laughing at how immature and silly you were before. I think all of us can look and just laugh at the ridiculousness of problems that we have created in our own minds that were never there, and it might have been a little tiny ant hill, but by the time we were done with it, it became a Mt. Rainier.

The only emotion actuating you which is somewhat difficult for them [the angels] to comprehend is the legacy of animal fear that bulks so large in the mental life of the average inhabitant of Urantia. The angels really find it hard to understand why you will so persistently allow your higher intellectual powers, even your religious faith, to be so dominated by fear, so thoroughly demoralized by the thoughtless panic of dread and anxiety. (p. 1243:02)

Much of Jesus’ healing happened in expectant and faith-dominated persons who came “under the immediate and inspirational influence of a strong, positive, and beneficent personality whose ministry banishes fear and destroys anxiety.” (p. 1658:05) Those people were literally healed of physical problems, first of all in their minds of fear and anxiety, and then all of a sudden the aches and pains went away. Jesus said that “Fear is man’s chief enslaver and pride his great weakness” and that “both of these [are] destroyers of joy and liberty.” (p. 1596:02) Jesus also said that, “Hate is the shadow of fear; revenge the mask of cowardice.” (p, 1632.03) In ministering to Simon the Pharisee, Jesus told him, “…you are distraught by fear and troubled by pride; but I pray for you that you may yield to the light and may experience in your station in life just such mighty transformations of mind and spirit… .” (p. 1652:03)Those transformations within this man’s mind and spirit could not happen until he let go of the fear and pride.

When Jesus talked to the young man who was afraid, He said,

Set your mind at work to solve its problems; teach your intellect to work for you; refuse longer to be dominated by fear like an unthinking animal. Your mind should be your courageous ally in the solution of your life problems rather than your being, as you have been, its abject fear-slave and the bond-servant of depression and defeat. But most valuable of all, your potential of real achievement is the spirit which lives within you, and which will stimulate and inspire your mind to control itself and activate the body if you will release it from the fetters of fear and thus enable your spiritual nature to begin your deliverance from the evils of inaction by the power-presence of living faith. And then, forthwith, will this faith vanquish fear of men by the compelling presence of that new and all-dominating love of your fellows which will so soon fill your soul to overflowing because of the consciousness which has been born in your heart that you are a child of God. (p. 1438:00)

In another place He says, “Perfect love casts out all fear.” A fear-dominated person does not really love. They may possess; they may control; they may manipulate and use the word “love” to describe those things, but if they are fear-dominated, they don’t really love. Jesus told this young man that when he was freed from his fear,

Trouble will invigorate you; disappointment will spur you on; difficulties will challenge you; and obstacles will stimulate you. Arise, young man, say farewell to the life of cringing fear and fleeing cowardice. Hasten back to duty and live your life in the flesh as a son of God, a mortal dedicated to the enobling service of man on earth and destined to the superb and eternal service of God in eternity. (p. 1438:01)

From what we can gather, when Jesus was talking with this young man who was so afraid, it was his responsibility to become unafraid, and he had to move from inaction to action. He needed to activate his mind to begin to overcome those lower thoughts, and he also needed to begin to move his body into service for others, and that in service to others, fear will be dispelled. Jesus’ watchword was “Fear not.” As I was looking through The URANTIA Book and doing this study, I observed that over and over, when Jesus was talking to someone, He would say, “Fear not,” and then He would go on and give a beautiful teaching.It is very obvious that fear is such a big reality in most people’s lives, but here at the First Planetary Sacred Home we are trying to move out of that fear and into a higher faith by supplying the psychic fulcrum for our Thought Adjusters to change our feelings of fear into convictions of love and confidence. Part of that psychic fulcrum is Fifth Epochal Revelation and Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation, and that revelation is bringing us into the pre-stages of light and life where we are creating a human civilization of spiritual striving devoid of fear. Here now, we are attempting “the ascent from the emotional domains of fear and superstition to the high levels of cosmic wisdom and personal spiritual experience.” (ibid., 577:04) We are being asked to evolve from a fear-ridden soul, an ordinary human here on Urantia, into a superior mortal. We are being asked to become a phenomenon, to become extraordinary, to become abnormal. And on page 1453 The URANTIA Book states that superior persons are given to self-adjustment and are free from anxiety and fear. Self-adjustment is so important because we are constantly going to be asked to make changes in many areas of our life; changes in our mind, in our thought processes, changes in the way we respond emotionally to things, changes in the way we live physically. If we have fear, we don’t make those changes; we cling to our old way; we stay in our little comfort zones, even though those comfort zones may have made us miserable. Now we are being asked to walk out of all of that, and when we can be freed from anxiety and fear, then we can become who we really need to become. We have to be adaptable; we have to make those adjustments when we are asked to make them. Many times we get comfortable in our little function here in Divine Administration that we are doing, and then we are asked to make a switch and a change, and we are so surprised. But we can adjust to that, because always, no matter what the change is in our function, what that adjustment is, it is for our forward movement, our evolution, and if you think it isn’t, then you need to look at yourself. Where are you thinking wrong? Where are you lacking faith in the decisions of the mandated eldership who have decided, under the guidance of celestial spirits, to change your function? It is very important that you begin to assess why you react to certain things the way you do. Remember, these are the “Melchizedek schools of self-evaluation.”

A helpful activity for you would be to write in your journal a reflection that first identifies your own fears, focusing on yourself, evaluating yourself. Then describe your task in supplying the psychic fulcrum for the Thought Adjuster to apply His spiritual lever to help you move out of fearful thoughts and feelings. Identify those fears, and then discover what you can do about them. How can you go about providing that psychic fulcrum for your Thought Adjuster, so that He can help adjust those fearful thoughts?

Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, “The only thing to fear is fear itself.” It was Job in the Old Testament who said that what you fear the most usually comes about. “What you fear will befall you.” There are a lot of things to fear, some of which Niánn has mentioned: fear of success, fear of failure, fear of letting others know who you really are, fear of reprisal. There is the fear of losing someone you love through divorce or death. One of the tragedies of life is that we do go through divorces and end relationships and experience physical death on this planet. We lose people we love. Some of us fear growing old. Unfortunately, on a fallen world, particularly one as fallen as this one, we have wars, so men have to experience the fear of combat. We have to actually go into battle and kill each other or be killed. The saying in war, “Kill or be killed,” as the soldier learns, portends a really sincere fear. Niánn mentioned fear of the unknown. There are all kinds of phobias. There is the fear of being closed in and fear of being outside of the house Some people stay in their house for years at a time; they don’t want to go outside because they can’t handle what’s outside the door. There is fear of high places, fear of flying, and on and on. My Gabriel of Urantia quote is, “I feel that the only thing that we should ever fear is misdoing God’s perfect will.”

It is pretty simple to say that faith conquers fear; many people think they have faith, except when God calls us to really have faith and take the next step, but not a baby step. Simon says to take two baby steps; Simon says to take a giant step; Simon says to turn around then take a giant step backwards. It gets a little difficult when you face the unknown. The way God works requires us to have faith throughout, until finality. Thought Adjuster fusion is not like you are sitting on Daddy’s lap, and the Universal Father is comforting you like a human father or friend. Our relationship with God the Father is by faith, not only on this world of time and space but on many more to come. We know Him in another way. We know God, and we act upon God’s will in another way, not because we have to do it.

At some point in our ascension, we should understand and trust God, because trust is a part of love. We should trust God enough to do God’s will because we trust that it will come out right in the end. We must learn to trust our Heavenly Father, because if we don’t do that, fear can be very, very crippling. Some of us don’t even know that we are supposed to trust God. We continue on in the fear, and this keeps us very, very small in many ways. Physically, we get diseases; fear creates arthritis and many paralyses. Faith, however, true faith, as it begins in our lives, is exciting. You just might get out of your neighborhood. You just might get out of the city in which you live, where you don’t really belong. You might just get out of the state where you don’t really belong. God may ask you to go across to the other side of the world. God can’t move you physically from one place to another if you aren’t pliable. I don’t know how many times I have moved physically in this one lifetime, in God’s perfect will, from one city to another, from one state to another, over and over again, until I finally got planted here in Sedona. It has been a continual movement.

Faith involves risk taking. A lot of you want to read books about adventurers, but you should be the adventurer! Have you ever heard really old people in their 90s and 100s say, “If I had it all to do over again,…” the first thing they say is, “I would have taken more risks.” God asks us to take a lot of risks. That is how it has been for me in this life, and I’m sure in many other lives: to take risks, to have trust, to have adventure.

Faith exhibits extreme love and loyalty. I will move for God by faith because I love God, and I’m loyal to God. That is another part of it; God expects us to move on faith. He doesn’t have to show us the end. He doesn’t have to show you the blueprint. He doesn’t have to give you all the outline of how it’s going to be done or show you exactly how it’s going to work. God is God; He just says, “Look, go. Go through it. Experience the adventure.” Paladin is a finaliter, and he said that if he knew what the next moment was, what would be the use of living? He is a finaliter. When he comes back to the worlds of time and space, it’s an open ball game; if you know what the outcome is, why play the game? Maybe as you get older, there are certain perimeters that you can recognize and say, “Well, if you do this, this is probably going to happen,” but then again, there are always variables. And if you become so inflexible that you want all the variables answered, if your lab makes no exceptions for any grace, for any variables at all, you are living by the letter of your own law, and you are probably miserable. If you are not miserable, you are basically going to have to be fearful. That is what we are talking about—afraid to move, afraid to do anything new. “Oh, I wonder what that other person is thinking about me. Oh, I better not do that because if I do, they will think this.” Don’t worry about what they think; worry about what God thinks. If you are concerned about what the other person thinks about you, you will never accomplish anything for God. What do you think great men and women do? They don’t give a hoot about what anyone says; they do it because God says, “Do it,” and then the people understand, and then they get applauded. But on the way to the goal, they are persecuted.

God is looking for the special forces, particularly on this planet. God should come first; it’s the first commandment: “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul and mind, above all things.” Many say they love God more than anything, and then if there is a disagreement between God’s will and your wife; your wife becomes God. If it’s a disagreement between God’s will and your husband, your husband becomes God or your kids become God. Our family is much bigger than the one under our household roof. Our family is the family of God. Once again, I point out that at the foot of the cross, Jesus said, “Who is my mother? And who is my father? Who is my brother? Who is my sister? Who is my son? And who is my daughter?”

You have to have the bigger picture. If I had listened to my human father, I would be back in Pittsburgh, working in the steel mill. If I would have listened to my friends, I would be back in Pittsburgh, partying. If you are speaking for God, you’re my authority. Little kids could speak for God, and sometimes they have to remind us. “You don’t get ulcers from what you eat, you get them from what’s eating you.” Vicki Baum said that.

It says in the New Testament and probably in The URANTIA Book somewhere, “It’s not what goes into the mouth that defiles you, it’s what comes out of it”. What’s eating you? “Well, I don’t like this or that person. I don’t like this, I don’t like that. God, you should be moving faster in my life. I’m thirty years old, and I don’t have my complement yet. I don’t like where I’m living. I don’t like this, I don’t like that.” You are basically just creating that little disease within you that’s going to make you sick, as opposed to giving thanks to God for what you do have and accepting where you are. In all things give thanks.

Your life should be a prayer. I sit down and eat with a grateful heart (and stomach). I enjoy life. I’m so thankful for everything around me; I know it all has come from God. I’m thankful for it, and in that way our bodies can fight off many diseases. We don’t have to officially give thanks every moment for God, but if our life is a prayer, then our antibodies are right there. If we get a little virus in us that is deadly, our antibodies can react a lot better because they are commanded by God to work upon a thanks-giving spirit. One of the reasons why people are getting ill in the world is that they are not thankful. They are fearful, so their immune systems are going to break down.

A lot of good men and women don’t become anything extraordinary. They don’t do great things; they don’t run for political office because of fear, nor do they try to accomplish anything of any great significance for fear of what others will do to them or say to them. What makes many great men and women great is the fact that they do it anyway, regardless of what may befall them by others of lesser motive, of lesser intent, of hate. The enemies of the light are basically the darkness of this planet. It’s difficult, because you can be so wrong, so wrong about something and think you are so right. That is why wars have been fought, why people have fought against each other and organizations have fought against organizations. So many people say they have the way, and we say we have the highest way. Who is right? Who is wrong? Ultimately, that is something that each one of us has to come to a conclusion about individually.

On this planet of brokenness and conceptual darkness, the highest way and the highest group right now probably has to be a group of lesser membership for a while, because it is the hardest way. So many people on this planet want “the instant mashed potatoes,” not willing to take the risk that involves true spiritual growth. You can’t accomplish great things if fear stops you; you just can’t. You may become “a big fish in a little pond,” but you will never become the great, wonderful, person God wants you to be for the masses. Here at the First Planetary Sacred Home, as destiny reservists, you are being asked to become leaders of the world one day. “Who me? I can’t even talk right.” Or, “Look at me, I don’t even look right. I’m too fat; I’m too skinny; I’m too tall; I’m too old; I’m this; I’m that.” Fear. “What will others think about me?” You don’t like yourselves enough, and that is one of your problems. You have to learn to love the true beauty of God within you; that is what God loves. He doesn’t look at your outside. Do you think He looks at your body and says, “Ooh, what an ugly body”? The true beauty of you is what your spirit is. That is the “true you” within you. It is your life force; it is the soul. That is what God is concerned about. Once again, we have little Yoda. He didn’t look at all very beautiful, but yet, he was the master. God is calling each one of you to be the master. So many on the planet need you, but you have to realize who you are and become it. That is why you are given your cosmic names; that is why some of you are just beginning to realize your point of origin. The reason that you have forgotten who you really are is fear. At some point, you accepted the rebellion which says you don’t have to do it God’s way. Do it your way, and when you begin to do it your own way, you have fear. Fear blocks every circuit of light that is available for your happiness, joy, actualization, and ascension.

There is a right way to overcome fear, and there is a wrong way to overcome it. Many of us have been taught the wrong way to overcome fear. In my neighborhood, there were a lot of fights and a lot of macho guys running around. I mentioned my father, and I love him dearly, but my dad was macho, and no matter how big the guy was, if he looked at me the wrong way, my dad made me go out and fist-fight him. Now, I’m a little man, and I was even smaller then. In order to muster up enough courage in myself to go out and fight this guy who was five times bigger than I was, I’d have to get really angry, uncontrollably angry, so that I could go out there, “I don’t give a heck what happens to me, I’m gonna beat this guy. I don’t care what he does to me. He could punch me the hardest; he can do whatever he wants to do to me, but whatever he does, I’m gonna come back.” That’s the wrong way, believe me! That is definitely the wrong way to overcome fear, but, a lot of young men on this planet are taught that very thing by their human fathers. As I got older, and came into my own at fourteen or fifteen, I started saying “No,” to my father. I said, “No, Dad, this is not right. I’m not going to hit somebody.”

When you start coming into your own sense of what is right and wrong, then you have to make choices, and those choices continue, basically, forever. You can make so many wrong choices, and you can be so controlled by others that you never break those patterns. Who controls you? Many people stay in the same consciousness and mindset for their entire lives. God can’t pull them out into cosmic reality. If you live in fear in many areas of your life, because there can be a lot of areas of fear, that’s where you will live, and that will be where your reality is.

There was a Star Trek program that had to do with making wrong choices. There was one particular scene, and I’ll explain it in Continuing Fifth terms. There was a time-and-space moment that took place, and in this moment, somebody made a wrong decision that affected maybe a half-dozen people. Several people died, and two of those people were individuals who this person who made the wrong decision loved very much—his wife and his daughter. Because of this, he realized that he made this wrong decision, and from that point on, he lived in that moment. He was back, continually, in that moment, and no matter what transpired, in his mind he was living that moment. He couldn’t go on; he couldn’t ascend until he dealt with the fact, admitted that he made a wrong decision, and accepted it. That is a heck of a thing. The URANTIA Book says it takes a great and noble mind, once having gone in the way of error, to turn around and come back and go in the right direction, to admit you’re wrong and say, “Yep, doggone it, I was wrong. You were right, and I was wrong.” That is one of the hardest things for an ascending soul to do.

Truth is truth. Just walk in it and look around you. I you don’t see it, it is because something else or someone else is your God. You have to figure out what that is. That is what the rebellion is, and that is your fear. If you make God your all in all, and you live the first commandment, then you will have a personal change point, and eventually the first stage of light and life will come about for you in your ascension. So, you must have faith over fear. Just listen to what God wants you to do. Don’t put anything else before God, in whatever area of your life God is dealing with you. That is true faith, and that is what makes a destiny reservist a destiny reservist. “You walk the talk,” Saint Francis said, “Don’t just talk the talk. Let your walking be your preaching.”
