Teaching by Niánn Emerson Chase
Responding to Failure
There is a change in attitude that everyone needs to have for the twenty-first century. It is the idea of growing up and maturing in the divine pattern of the Universal Father. It is growing more into coordination and cooperation with the fragment of the Universal Father within us. For us, the word maturity means growing up in our Father’s personality.
How many of you have, at some point in your life, felt like you were a failure? You didn’t fit into any niche; you couldn’t seem to blend in; your family didn’t really approve of you; you couldn’t hold down a job that you really liked, that type of thing. I think there are some of us who didn’t feel like failures in the third-dimension (mainstream society), but even though we didn’t feel like failures, we weren’t happy there. I didn’t feel like a failure, but I wasn’t happy there, and I began to get to a point where I couldn’t stand being there at all.
The teaching I am giving is based on two sections in The URANTIA Book, from pages 1777 to 1780 about Rodan of Alexandria, the Greek philosopher who latched onto the teachings of Jesus and brought them into his own understanding of life. He spent a couple of days talking to some of the apostles of Jesus, and the two papers in The URANTIA Book about Rodan of Alexandria are based on those few days he spent with the apostles talking about his understanding of Jesus’ teachings. Obviously, they were pretty important because they were included in the revelation. I am basing my talk on just two of those sections called “The Lures of Maturity” and “The Balance of Maturity.”
Rodan had an interesting thing to say about failure and how to perceive failure. He said:
The career of a God-seeking man may prove to be a great success in the light of eternity, even though the whole temporal-life enterprise may appear as an overwhelming failure, provided each life failure yielded the culture of wisdom and spirit achievement. (ibid., 1780:02)
Basically, what he said was that for some people on this planet it may seem that their whole life has been a failure. They have never really succeeded in anything, and yet, from a celestial spirit perspective, maybe they are quite successful, because if they took each failure that was in the world and applied it to their own spiritual growth and matured and grew up in that process, then they are not a failure. We know that there have been many people who have been considered failures in life and yet, from God’s perspective they were some of the greatest people that walked the planet. From certain perspectives, Jesus of Nazareth was a failure because He wasn’t able to implement His teachings. In a month’s time He would have five thousand or more followers, semi-believers, and then after a month, only five hundred would be left. He was a failure from a third-dimensional perspective; He ended up crucified on the cross. Of course, we have another perspective, and to us He was not a failure at all. He was the most victorious human being who ever walked this planet. That life of the bestowal of Jesus is an inspiration still, not only for the people of this planet, but for the personalities of the entire universe of Nebadon as well as other universes. So failure is pretty relative, but how we look at our own sense of failure is what is important to understand.
Rodan stated:
Failure is simply an educational episode—a cultural experiment in the environment of wisdom—in the experience of the God-seeking person who has embarked on the eternal adventure of the exploration of a universe. To such men, defeat is but a new tool for the achievement of higher levels of universe reality. (ibid., 1780:01)
So, it is just seeing failure from a completely different perspective. I remember when Gabriel and I started communicating with the primary midwayers, who were the first who came through to speak to Gabriel and me. What they told us is:
If you are walking in God’s will, the mistakes that you make, the failures that you feel, don’t have to be that. They can be opportunities for learning and growing. It is all how you look at it.
Rodan also said:
But life will become a burden of existence unless you learn how to fail gracefully. There is an art in defeat which noble souls always acquire; you must know how to lose cheerfully; you must be fearless of disappointment. Never hesitate to admit failure. Make no attempt to hide failure under deceptive smiles and beaming optimism. It sounds well always to claim success, but the end results are appalling. Such a technique leads directly to the creation of a world of unreality and to the inevitable crash of ultimate disillusionment. (ibid., 1779:05)
What is so important for us here to understand is that we have to be real. You may be a person who is God-seeking; you may have a relationship with God, you may be maturing spiritually, wanting to walk moment-to-moment in God’s perfect will. But just because you are doing all that doesn’t mean that at times you won’t have those emotions of disappointment; disappointment in yourself or disappointment in others, a sense of failure and disappointment that you blew it. How many of you were devastated when you received your first admonishment? It was like you had been kicked in the stomach. How could that person do this to you? Then you started feeling that you weren’t worthy; you weren’t an acceptable person, you were a failure, and all of that. Now when you are appropriately confronted, you respond, “Oh boy, I did blow it!” You have matured. You have grown up a little and are able to admit, “Yeah, I really blew it in that situation. I failed to be in my highest self.” You take it and learn from it, and you grow a little wiser. That is how we should view our so-called failures. Turn them into an opportunity for growth. When a person begins to do that, they begin to mature instead of sniveling and whining. “He cut me down; he said something bad about me,” or whatever it is. Take it and admit it. Also, I think that sometimes there is a false idea that when we come here to the First Planetary Sacred Home, we think, “Boy, we have the angels now, and I’m going to really grow, and everything’s going to be just copacetic and perfect. I’ll get along with everyone. I’ll love everyone, and everyone will love me, and I will never, ever, be disappointed in another human being or in myself.” You think it’s going to be instant perfection, and then you suffer shock because it isn’t that way. You still hurt; you still cringe; you still squirm. There are still people that you want to pinch their heads, and you are embarrassed about it.
That reminds me of the story of my younger brother. When he was in high school, he was quite a rounder, but one day in one of his classes he was acting up and his teacher said, “Doug, if I want any shit out of you, I will squeeze your head.” I thought that was perfect! So that is why I like to pinch people’s heads and see what comes out.
Recently I came across something in The URANTIA Book that really impacted me, and I realized that when Jesus walked this planet, He was perfect as a man. He wasn’t perfect as a Creator Son, or perfect as a Melchizedek; He was bestowing as a material evolutionary mortal on a fallen planet. Now, being an evolutionary mortal in a material body on a fallen planet like Urantia is going to be very different than being an evolutionary mortal in a material body on a planet that is in the first stage of light and life. There are different degrees and levels of perfection given the circumstances of the situation that you are in. So, Jesus, on this planet as a man, walked in perfection. Every choice He made was in the perfect will of God. Every time human emotions came up His response to those emotions was perfect. It was always done in the highest way; so He was an inspiration. My idea used to be, “Well, of course, He really couldn’t have experienced any kind of disappointment or sadness, or those types of things, unless it was sadness over the suffering of others, but basically He was above all that, so I should be too.” And how many of you do, at times, when you are struggling with emotions, beat up on yourself? “Oh, I shouldn’t feel disappointed in myself. I shouldn’t feel discouraged. I shouldn’t feel fearful.” Well, those emotions are real. Those things are going to come up. It is what we do with them, how we deal with them that matters. So we shouldn’t be beating ourselves up necessarily about emotions that come up. Many of us are going to have to process a lot of emotions as we go through our healing, especially the starseed who have layers and layers and layers of hurtful and painful situations. They are going to have to go through all those things. We are told about the emotional memories. Many of your memories can be joyful, victorious, and make you feel great. But a lot of them are going to be quite painful, and it is very necessary that we experience them. But if we beat up on ourselves when we are working through this process and we feel guilty that we even have this process and have the emotion, then we are being very unrealistic with ourselves. What we need is a shift in how we view those human experiences.
There was a time when Jesus was going on a journey somewhere during His public ministry, and He was so hurt and disappointed because none of His family members came to say good-bye to Him. Now, we are talking about this man of perfection. So He had expectations regarding His personal family members just like all of us do. We do feel hurt when our family members do not love us, do not accept us in this new growth process, this ministry that we are going into.
Another thing impacted me while reading in The URANTIA Book. It was after Jesus’ apostles had trained quite a few people as evangelists. They had an evangelistic team, and about a hundred of them went out on a two-or three-month teaching ministry mission. They went from town to town ministering, and during that mission they went to Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown. He was not received well there. People were too familiar with Him. Even though He lived a life of perfection from the moment He was born, He wasn’t received well in His own home. Some time later they are at some other place ministering, and they had a day off and most of the people that were part of this team were resting, and they were fishing and hanging out, but Jesus spent most of that day in the hills alone, communing with God. The URANTIA Book says that He had not yet quite recovered from His experience at Nazareth and the rejection He was accorded there. That really impacted me, for I realized that He was emotionally distraught from being rejected by His own family and hometown people, His own tribe, or however you want to say it. So He was human. It was normal that He was going to experience that. He didn’t compromise. It didn’t keep Him from doing the Father’s will, but He had to deal with that, and it took Him a while to recover from it. You have to remember those things. It is so important, and Rodan understood that and says that you are not always going to be successful, so don’t always smile and say everything is fine when it isn’t, because it isn’t. Be honest about it. When you need help, you need help; ask for it. Don’t say, “Oh, my God, I am going to impact someone with my sadness or my grief.” Remember too, that we are taught from The URANTIA Book that it is not good to do that, to isolate yourself and withdraw. Remember that after Jesus was arrested and crucified, how the apostles were in such a terrible state, and how Thomas took off by himself and it just made him worse. Even though they were all in a terrible state, to be alone and separated from his brothers was even worse. The URANTIA Book says that if he had come and joined his fellow apostles that they could have helped him get through some of that depression, even though they themselves were struggling and emotionally distraught, each one in a different manner. It says that he too could have helped his fellow apostles; even in all of his misery, his presence would have somehow helped to uplift his fellow apostles. So we have to remember that in our humanity, if we are honest, sincere, and God-seeking, and we want to mature, the important thing is to be honest, and we can help each other and uplift each other in that honesty. Because we each have ways of viewing things, we can help each other with our perceptions. We can’t do it alone; we are social beings; we are naturally gregarious, and this is the union of souls. I will remind you that The URANTIA Book teaches that the higher a personality (not just humans, but even celestial spirit beings) ascends, the more spiritual a person becomes, the more lonely they will be for their fellow personalities, friends, or kindred spirits, the more they will miss them, and the more they will need to be around them. So, again, recognize the importance of that.
The Effort Toward Maturity Necessitates Work
Because things are so twisted in the third dimension on this planet we get into relationships with friends, with siblings, with parents, and with complements, which are co-dependent relationships. What we have to learn is that we have to move into interdependent relationships. And what does that mean? What is the difference between the two? That is what we are learning here, and every single one of us has had to learn how to change relationships and even to get out of certain relationships. Many of us were in codependent relationships with people who we loved very much that we had to leave behind in the third dimension because they had no interest or desire in what we wanted to get into in our search for spiritual maturity. So we had to leave them behind. Many of us who have come here are learning to change how we relate to each other. Starseed who never knew each other in this life until they came here, never met each other, but have known each other before in past lives and have developed unhealthy, codependent patterns in previous existences, are now learning how to change that, to relate in another way, in a higher way, and it is quite a challenge. It is a part of maturing, of growing up, of being real with each other, of being honest with each other. So we are wanting to mature. Rodan tells us that “The effort toward maturity necessitates work, and work requires energy.” So we don’t come here, have a magic wand waved over us, and suddenly there we are, everything is fixed up. We have to work hard, and it takes lots of energy. Now, where do we get that energy from? Where do we get the power, then, to do this work that we all want to do? How do we release the threefold spirit of God within us so that we can become mature, so that we can operate and coordinate with that spirit. When we are free to move into that maturity, we can be used for the purpose of enlightening, uplifting, and blessing countless other souls. So we want to mature, not only for our own sense of fulfillment and our own sense of being blessed and uplifted, but so that we, in turn, can better serve others. We want to do that for other people on this planet. Two orders of seconophim (angels) called the Solemnity of Trust and the Sanctity of Service are possibly here working with us because the circuitry is beginning to be reconnected on this planet.
The Ideal Spiritual Stimulus
How do we get this energy though? We need to develop some things, and Rodan says, “One thing I am sure of, emotional excitement is not the ideal spiritual stimulus. Excitement does not augment energy; it rather exhausts the powers of both mind and body.” Why do you think so many of us are being slowed down? Because we got used to that razzle-dazzle sensational stuff in the third dimension. If you didn’t get a real charge out of those cheap thrills, then it wasn’t worth it. We are learning different things here. According to Rodan this energy doesn’t come from emotional excitement; it is not that at all. It is not hysteria. The URANTIA Book refers to it as hysteria and fanaticism. We get it from spiritual communion, worship. That is what Jesus often did. Often He would say, “I must be about my Father’s business.” Even as a little kid, it drove His parents crazy. “Where are you going, son?” “I’m going to go talk with my Father.” And Joseph was saying, “Hey, I’m your Dad; I’m right here.” But they knew He was going to go talk with His heavenly Father, the Universal Father. He would go to have communion and worship with His Father. That is where we will get the energy, nowhere else. We are going to receive it through communion, through worship. Rodan says that in order to get to that state of spiritual communion, we need to quiet our bodies and our minds. And Rodan says that quieting our bodies and our minds is a combined form of meditation and relaxation. When we use the word meditation here, we don’t necessarily mean that you go into a trance state or anything like that. Meditation is simply quieting your body, quieting your mind. And it can be done in many ways. It can be just sitting down and listening to the birds. It can be prayer. It can be reading something from The URANTIA Book or Continuing Fifth and reflecting on it. But when we do that, when we quiet ourselves with the intent of connecting with God, what we do is to bring our minds into contact with that threefold spirit within us, especially the fragment of the Father. That is how we can begin to free the threefold spirit within us to work with us. It is important to relax, because relaxation gets us into the mode where we are receptive to the leading of spirit. The URANTIA Book indicates how important it is to have rest and relaxation. When we are feeling discombobulated, depressed, discouraged, resentful, angry, fearful, confused—all the things that make us feel not very good—what we need to do is to develop a habit of getting into that state of spiritual communion, which includes meditation and relaxation. Rodan calls these habits “strength-giving and worshipful.” These types of habits can help interchange strength for weakness. Where we were feeling weak, if we get into that mode of communion with God through meditation or relaxation, we will become strong. When we feel fearful, we can become encouraged and be filled with courage instead. When we are all wrapped up in ourselves and we think “I don’t like this at all in me,” if we go to God we can bring our mind up higher, then it will be replaced with the will of God instead of our own little will. Rodan said,
Such habits eventually formulate themselves into a spiritual character, [so if you keep doing this you’ll just automatically begin to move into spiritual character] and such a character is finally recognized by one’s fellows as a mature personality. (ibid., 1777:02)
Note that the words, mature personality are in italics. It means moving into our personality circuits that we have talked about. Rodan says that “These practices are difficult, and they are time-consuming at first, but when they become habitual they are at once restful and time-saving.” How many of you spend so much energy and time worrying and fretting about this and that, and getting upset, forgetting to truly rest in God—whatever it takes to bring your mind into that higher place?
When I am in a temporary state of turmoil, I will pray. But sometimes just praying doesn’t help. I have to actually force my mind out of that mode, whatever it is in. So I go immediately to The URANTIA Book or Continuing Fifth. If you have The URANTIA Book tapes, just listening and hearing can bring your mind completely out of that craziness into a higher place ever so quickly. To develop that habit, to get out of the old habits you have of feeding resentment, or feeling inadequate, or whatever is getting you down, takes a lot of work and discipline. It will take some time, but if you begin to get into the habit of doing something about it, pretty soon that will be a habit. It will be automatic, and then you will mature. You will develop that character that is so important. And remember that those habits will save us time because we waste so much time basically complaining. We waste so much energy doing that. There is the threefold spirit of God within you that can’t do anything because the spiritual forces can’t go against your free will. You have to begin to make those choices.
There are seconophim (angels) called the Import of Time who can possibly help in this area. Rodan said,
The more complex society becomes, and the more that lures of civilization multiply, the more urgent will become the necessity of God-knowing individuals to form such protective habitual practices designed to conserve and augment their spiritual energies. (ibid., 1777:03)
When we come from that complex, sophisticated society, most of us are overstimulated; and it is hard to get used to a simpler lifestyle, fewer stimulations, less jumping in the car and running here and there and going on shopping sprees, or turning on the TV, or turning on some music or whatever it is we used to do to run away from ourselves, to run away from getting depressed. Our society is very complex out there, and we know from reading The URANTIA Book that “the more advanced a civilization becomes, the more simplified the living becomes,” the less demanding, because for one thing there are fewer things you have to take care of.
Cooperative Adjustments to An Ever-Changing Environment
Rodan said that “Another requirement for the attainment of maturity is the cooperative adjustment of social groups to an ever-changing environment.” So now he is going from getting alone with God and communing with God, and resting and allowing that, to learning how to interact with the other human beings around you. And we definitely have to learn that, don’t we, in the crowded situations that we live in, which are very sacred situations if we would look at it that way? Rodan said that, “The immature individual arouses the antagonism of his or her fellows; the mature man wins the hearty co-operation of his associates, thereby many times multiplying the fruits of his life efforts.” Too often we engage in a fight merely to convince ourselves that we are not afraid. We also want so badly to be right all the time that we will argue. But we know that the minute a person, an evolutionary mortal, leaves the material planet, they move into the mansion worlds, and especially on the constellation-level worlds, they begin to learn to live and work, learn and grow, and recreate with other personalities that are different from them. The whole idea of team effort, cooperation, is very important. So if we have a hard time getting along with someone, if we have a pattern of having quite a few conflicts, we need to look at that. There is some maturity that needs to happen. So, a very, very important aspect of our spiritual growth then, is being put in situations where we really have to learn to be thoughtful of others. When you make decisions—how and where you are driving, or how you treat your homes or the music studio, all of those things—you must not just be caught up in yourself and your agenda like a little bulldozer just going right through, running over everything and everybody. You must be aware of other people, not only the people who live in your home, not only other cosmic family members, but neighbors that aren’t even aligned with us. You must be considerate and thoughtful of everyone because those neighbors are children of God too, and they are watching us. What are we reflecting? Are we reflecting God in some way to them? In dealing with others, we can call on the help of the seconophim that is called the Memory of Mercy. And the teaching of the Memory of Mercy has to do with how you relate to others and showing others mercy and kindness. It is important then that you realize that if you have not been a person in the old order who has been very intellectual, you have been more of a person of the heart or whatever, it is important to come into balance now. It is important that you move into the intellectual realms too, that you move into the area of mind so that you can connect with the divine mind. It is important that you use that mind, that you do begin to grow intellectually. Psychic circle advancement has to do with intellectual and spiritual growth. You can’t separate them. So if you feel like you are dumb in the classroom, you are not really. If you haven’t been successful in school or whatever, you can do it. I have seen so many of you grow and expand in that. You walk out in faith, and you do it; you jump into it. You all have good minds, and the minute you start healing and the minute your circuitry starts opening, you can begin to understand these wonderful concepts that are presented in Fifth Epochal and Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation, and that is important.
When we get disappointed in ourselves and our thoughts are more on petty things and small things rather than the beautiful, wonderful things of divine pattern, the things of beauty and holiness, we need to realize that we have to bring our thoughts up. If we do not have a foundation to bring them up to, where do you bring them up to? So you have to begin to fill your mind with revelation. You have to begin to fill your mind with your understanding of who the Universal Father is, and you want it to always expand and grow, and you want to fall in love with Michael of Nebadon, and you want to reach higher, and that is what we mean about growing into your cosmic mind. The only way to do that is through the study of the revelation. It is important to have that heart, but it is also important to have the mind.
Rodan said,
On every mountaintop of intellectual thought are to be found relaxation for the mind, strength for the soul, and communion for the spirit. From such vantage points of high living, man is able to transcend the material irritations of the lower levels of thinking—worry, jealousy, envy, revenge, and the pride of immature personality. [Pride comes from an immature personality.] These high-climbing souls deliver themselves from a multitude of the crosscurrent conflicts of the trifles of living, thus becoming free to attain consciousness of the higher currents of spirit concept and celestial communication.” (ibid., 1778:03)
What he is saying is that if you allow your mind to climb up and fly to the mountaintops of higher thought and higher truth, naturally healing is going to be coming to you. You will be able to rest more. Your mind will rest, and your body will rest.
I want to close with a poem that many, many of you are familiar with, by Rudyard Kipling, called “If.” For him, it was a message to a young man, a boy who needed to grow into manhood. Just because you have reached puberty or have undergone some initiation rite to move into manhood doesn’t mean you are a man. Just because you become twenty-one or whatever culture decides what age a man is, that doesn’t mean you become a man. Becoming a man has to do with maturity. I feel this poem is really for all people, and if you want to become a mature personality, this is it.
IF
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs, and blaming it on you.
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated don’t give way to hating,
And yet, don’t look too good, nor talk to wise;
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop to build ’em up with worn out tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch and toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will that says to them; ‘hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings nor lose the common touch,
If neither foe nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
Rudyard Kipling
Teaching by Gabriel of Urantia
The Twenty-first Century and the Millennium of the Divine Father
Each ascending son that becomes spiritually mature becomes more responsible in a divine way for the younger souls on a planet within his area of responsibility of function. The URANTIA Book starts out with the Father concept in the foreword of the book, and we hear so much throughout The URANTIA Book, and in all the epochal revelations, about the Fatherhood of God, the brother/sisterhood of man.
God is first and foremost Father, the First Source and Center; and the Father is the Creator, the Protector, the Provider, and the Leader. As the Creator, God the Father delegates His authority to His family. He delegates and relegates His authority to His family of freewill creatures that He has created. As Protector, He oversees all the aspects of His delegated children’s responsibilities, giving limitations to His children’s rule with perimeters. In other words, in divine government there is a responsibility of the Father not to let those children who have responsibilities abuse their authority over others, or neglect their responsibility over others, either purposely or ignorantly. He is the Protector. As the Provider, He sees that His appointed representatives have everything they need to help others to ascend and actualize. So for those of us who are walking in divine will, God the Father sees to it that we as individuals can manifest into our lives that which we can give to others to help them then manifest into their lives that which they in turn can give to help others and so on. That is working in Divine Administration. It doesn’t work quite that way in Caligastia’s world. It doesn’t work quite that way in rebellion.
As the Leader, God the Father is available through the Thought Adjuster. He is available to any of us through the Spirit of Truth. He is available as Counselor, and He is available to advise us, and He is available as a counselor and an advisor without becoming a dictator. God doesn’t force us to do anything. Divine leadership should not force anyone to do anything. God advises and counsels. He has a plan and knows the right direction that all of us should take, but He never forces His creation to follow His plan. It has to be done by His children knowing that this is the best way for them and for everyone concerned. In order to be truly thy brother’s keeper in the highest way, ascending sons must become fathers. They must have a father’s heart. So, The URANTIA Book says in Nebadon that it is the plan that each ascending son and ascending daughter complements have at least three children to raise at some point in their evolution—three children. Some of us starseed have had three hundred children, but the Nebadon plan is to raise at least three children. I believe in some universes it is the plan of the Creator Son that an ascending son or daughter may have to raise three hundred children. Nebadon is a young universe. Think about that one.
Ascending daughters must become mothers, divine mothers in the true sense of the word. Both parents must have the sense of divine responsibility, not only for their immediate family but for those outside the immediate family. Thus, a king or a queen or a president must be the father of the nation. George Washington was called the “father of our country” and still is called the father of our country because he was willing to sacrifice his life for the children of the new nation. He was willing to go into battle, to be shot at, possibly lose his life to try to create a new and better world for the children, and all of the ones who did this in the beginning in some way made great sacrifices in order to build a Camelot here in the New World, the New Order of the Ages. They were called “The Founding Fathers” because they had a father’s heart and a father’s concern for the citizens of the thirteen colonies.
A Planetary Spiritual Father
A true world leader is the spiritual father of a planet. As a world spiritual leader becoming, I have a father’s heart and concern for everyone on the planet. In a sense I have the responsibility for everyone on the planet. At this present time, I have responsibility without authority. I have a father’s heart for those of you who recognize who I am, but I also have a father’s heart for everyone on the planet. And if I can make everyone’s life better, I will. I have already made sacrifices most of my adult life to try to make that happen—real sacrifices, which I will not get into at this time. It is because I have been willing to make those sacrifices that I have been able to be chosen to have the Mandate of the Bright and Morning Star. But it does take the sacrifices of a father to better the lives of his children.
So we can say that Gabriel of Urantia is the founding father of Aquarian Concepts, and he is. Gabriel of Urantia is the founding father of Planetary Divine Administration. In the true fatherland, all of the sons are responsible for the younger citizens of both genders. I believe it is in Germany that they call the country “The Fatherland.” There are other countries too that use the term Fatherland. The divine idea is that the ascending sons of a nation and of a world are to be caretakers of everyone younger than them. That is the idea. So we hear, in our country of the United States of America, that Washington DC is the heart of the nation because it is the seat of the government in which the men and women who work in the government at that level are supposedly concerned about the cares of you and your children, rather than their own immediate families and their paychecks. Now we know that that isn’t the case all the time. We know that this government and the world’s governments have grown so much and are so bureaucratic and so out of whack that good men and women who are in the government can no longer even begin to implement that which is really necessary to reach the masses down at the levels of poverty and those who cannot afford an education or even medicine and health care. Does it seem as though the father concept of our government has really gotten away from us? It definitely has. Words are cheap. With words you can say great things; you can write great speeches. You can write great songs, but you have to be able to live them. Many songwriters write beautiful songs but can’t live up to them. Many authors write wonderful books and in their private lives are not so wonderful. So it is not just writing the words, but it is living them, being willing and able to live them. Then you are true to yourself; you are true to your poetry; you are true to God and to each other. But until you are willing to do that, you are a poet without heart.
The Cosmic Fatherhood Principle
It is a divine administration that makes the First Planetary Sacred Home of this planet, and Sedona, Arizona, has become the heart of the planet because of us here who are the highest sacrificers in the service of God. This heart of the planet will grow and grow and grow, and eventually it will be known throughout Urantia as the heart of the planet.
The father, the president of a nation should have the final decision when necessary, when opinions differ. The father of a family, the father of a relationship with the children, should have the final decision when there is indecision in the family. There is a saying by Harry Truman of the United States, one of the fathers of our nation, “The buck stops here.” He meant by that that he takes full responsibility for his administration. He takes full responsibility for his overseeing the people of his constituency—the buck stops here. The buck has to stop in your seat of responsibility. At some point all of you are going to have to own up more to your areas of responsibility, having a father’s and mother’s heart for your area of responsibility. Few leaders really take that kind of responsibility, thus allowing various factions to take over their rule. And if it is a divine right to rule, then by you letting others take over these various functions without you wanting, at some level, to remain responsible for those you appoint and delegate to, then these factions are going to begin to become the final decision makers in your government. That is why the third dimension has all this bureaucracy. That is why the president doesn’t have any more power. That is why people behind the scenes in corporations and with great money interests basically run a lot of governments. They can rule the world, because the leaders have lost their connection with God; they have lost the Father’s heart. Therefore, they do not have God’s blessing on their presidency. They do not have God’s power in their presidency, their kingship and their prime ministership. They do not have God’s power. If you don’t use it, you lose it. You lose God’s Deopower. If you don’t even know what it means to begin with, then you have never really had it, and so how can you even begin to start. So, many governments today have installed puppet leaders, and these puppet leaders are controlled by others who don’t have a true father’s heart. They are concerned mainly about themselves and their own families, so they can have millions of dollars in private accounts.
For Your Children and Your Children’s Children
I don’t have a private bank account. Niánn doesn’t have a private checking or savings account. We don’t have a private account. All books are open to the ones who are appointed to come and take care of the books. They know every dollar, every penny that is spent, where it goes, and so on. They know that Niánn and I don’t have private anything. The land, our property, mortgage, all that has been turned over to the Divine Administration through Aquarian Concepts. I am not leaving anything to my children. I have nothing to leave. What I am leaving it to is your children and your children’s children. What I am working for is for your children and your children’s children. So long as Amadon, Sonta-an (DeleVan) and Alcyone (DeleVin) stay in the perfect will of God, they have and will meet their destinies, and they will be responsible for your children and your children’s children just like your children will be responsible for their children and their children’s children. God owns everything. We are just stewards and instruments of everything that God owns. No one owns the land. Divine Administration is family-owned and operated and recognizes eldership, the Grandfandas who were the first grandfathers—the grandfathers of time and space who have ascended to finality. I like that name; Grandfanda is a grandfather. He knows what it is to have children and raise them. He knows what it is for kids to say, “I want this. I want that. I want it now.” He knows what that is, and we have to know what that is. We have to understand what responsibility is, and when they really need something, then we fathers have to make it happen, however and whatever that means. For me, at my level, it means one thing; at your level it means something else. I am not about to get into the details of what that all means. That is not such an easy subject to try to even begin to explain in a half hour. The finaliters go to other superuniverses and they try to be a father to adopted sons and daughters that are much different than their original point-of-origin children. Some on this planet would have a problem raising children of different color. How about raising a child that came from a fish? It would be very, very different, yet the same spirit of God is within that child. So, if you can’t see past the body, then you know you are still small. Some can’t see past the color of skin or the shape of a nose or whatever. You have to expand your views of the Fatherhood of God and the cosmic Fatherhood of God, not just the planetary brotherhood of God but the cosmic Fatherhood of God. Think about that one. That is what finality is. It is the cosmic Fatherhood of God, and the cosmic ascending sonship and daughtership of God. So, there should be no orphans in Divine Administration. No child should suffer the loss of a father’s embrace and affection. All ascending sons must see the gift of fatherhood to all younger souls, to be a father to them so that they can be fathered in return.
Many of us have cosmic children that in this life we are not so close to. As we ascend, however, we still have a responsibility for them at some level as they are incorporated into Divine Administration. By us doing what God wants us to do, somehow we bless those cosmic children that we had once more intimately embraced. Now we are making it possible for them to fly in a jet plane or to build one. My brothers have the opportunity to embrace them and care for them when I can’t. Where I once diapered them, now you can. Where I once was able to have the time to put them on my knee and talk to them like sons and daughters in which I was their biologic cosmic father, now my sons and my brothers do that, because I am trying to make other things happen for them. In order for me to make that happen for them I have to be more separated from them physically. That isn’t an easy thing, but it is part of the divine plan and particularly has to happen because we can only be at one place at one time. Love has to understand that separation is sometimes necessary. Therefore the father must go off to work, and the mother must sometimes stay behind with the children and do that joyfully and become, in a sense, a housewife.
Rainbow Woman and the Great Nurturing Mother
The term “housewife” has become a dirty word today. I think it is so beautiful. I think it is such a special, special word, a home mother. That is a great, great career. I don’t think that there is one little thing wrong with a woman attending to a household at all. When she can move from that and others can come and take over certain responsibilities and that mother can move out then in other directions that is OK too. Divine Administration allows other mothers to take over what you once did so that you then can manifest other things into reality for that child. That is how it works.
In the Native American culture, they understand the concept of the “rainbow woman” and the “great nurturing mother.” Created different. To me the rainbow women are the starseed, more so the starseed women. The great nurturing mothers mostly can be the first-light souls and younger souls. Now don’t think that the rainbow women do not have the great nurturing mother’s heart, because they do. Don’t think that the father who is a Planetary Prince doesn’t want to be with all of his children on a very close level. He does. All of these concepts may seem strange to those who have not experienced these realities, these concepts, but my bringing them to you at some level and you beginning to think about them can indeed trigger some avenues of thought within you which can help you to ascend to higher levels of understanding. I have this father’s heart for everyone in this room today, and a father sometimes knows the wisdom of not giving everything you want when you want it. It won’t be what you need at the time. That is what God does with us. We pray and pray, “Oh, Father, give me this, give me that, and I want it now.” And then, twenty years later we get it. “Why didn’t you give it to me twenty years ago? I was ready then.” Usually, when you have that attitude, you are not going to get it. It is only when you know why you didn’t get it that you get it. I am talking about in the Father’s will.
In Caligastia’s will, he will give to you and give to you and give to you. He will make it possible for you to become rich and famous and a big this and a big that; but when you get there, you are miserable. You are never happy because for true happiness you have to do it within a divine plan, and that divine plan is a big subject. We ascending sons, once again, must become fathers, and learn the proper relationships between cosmic sisters, cosmic brothers, and particularly the opposite sex. If you starseed have never been a complement to someone in a past life in an intimate way and had children, you might meet your cosmic sister and have a love for that cosmic sister and think, “Oh, this is supposed to be a physical, sexual thing,” and it never was intended to be. So, many of you have made physical love to cosmic children. You said, “Oh this guy is like my son, what am I doing? You feel bad you even did it. We all can make that mistake, and starseed certainly do make those mistakes. Here at the First Planetary Sacred Home, we are trying to understand our relationships with one another so that that kind of thing doesn’t happen here. It doesn’t need to happen. However, one must learn that you can be close without physical affection, that you can love without having sex, that you can be very, very physical with someone without being sexual. On planets of light and life, when administration is much more perfect, we can know what children are coming into the world. We can know, even before they get here, what children are being sent. That is a wonderful thing, a wonderful gift.
The Father/Mother’s Heart
Once again, the father/mother’s heart. When you say the word “father,” that definitely automatically brings up the word “mother” which automatically brings into place son, daughter, grandfather, grandmother, and so on. Each and every one of you need to understand this concept. Some of you ascending sons need to be more of a father to the ascending daughters, not a lover. One of the hardest things for ascending sons growing up to become spiritually responsible is not trying to take every sister you meet to bed with you. That is a horrible, terrible thing to do. This community does not teach free sex. We are not sannyasi. We do not teach that. Quite the contrary, we teach responsible complementary relationships. So I can look at a certain beautiful woman when I first meet her, a beautiful, physically attractive woman, and I can look at her and I can think of her as my granddaughter, and that is the relationship between us. She is my granddaughter. Now she may be the same age, chronologically, as someone who is my complement who I may have other feelings for because we have been together before as man and wife. So I don’t have quite the kind of a father’s heart for that woman as I would for someone who was my granddaughter in a past life. You have to understand there are 170 million starseed on the planet over the age of eighteen and many millions of younger ones. Therefore, every month on the sequential energy prayer visualization list we pray, “Help me to understand the past-life relationships so that I can understand what they should be in this life.” And God will tell you.
I appreciate the fact that people write to me and say, “I think I was this person in the past life, and this is why. This is what God is showing me.” That is where God does want you to come to. Do you think I have time to lay down all day long and ask Paladin who you were? My responsibility right now, whenever I have the time with the beings, is to allow them to confirm some of those things for you. Sometimes very much on my own as my own ascending soul, TaliasVan, I can say, “Oh, yes, I know this is absolutely correct.” I don’t even have to go to Paladin, but I will anyway. But we can all grow into hearing from God clearly, and those memory circuits will open for you, and you will know who you are, and many of you are beginning to do that. But in order for that to happen, you need to be pure. In order for that pure insight to come, you need to be pure. And part of that purity is having a father’s concern for others. It goes right back to the first two commandments, “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul, and your neighbor as yourself,” and the concept of family, the concept of being the fathers and the mothers, taking the responsibility for each other. That is what we are doing here.
We are trying to distribute materials in a way in which everyone benefits at their level. That is God’s way. Some day there won’t be any money, we hope.
In Jesus’ last bestowal, the real message in the experience and ministry for Him was purely divine administration, so we could learn how divine administration works at a human mortal level. Isn’t it interesting? At a Lanonandek level it works a certain way. At a Melchizedek level it will work a certain way, and on the Material Son and Daughter worlds it will work a certain way. With us mortals it will work at a level that works for us. Much of the training we are going through is getting away from the I, me, mine attitude. So, you should have the best trumpet to use once you learn to play it. You should have the best whatever, once you learn to use it, because once you are ready for it, it is divine will that you have it. Once you are ready for it, it is divine will for me to make it happen for you, or to try and get it for you. That is divine rule; that is divine responsibility. That is the father’s heart. And it is the mother’s responsibility to say, “Have you gotten this for him yet?” “Have you gotten this for her yet?”—just little reminders.
Bring it to the father’s attention that the child is ready for this. Let’s manifest it for them—divine rule. Each of you can do this so beautifully in the years ahead that we have to bless all of the children of this planet. And the one thing that people see above any of us being students of The URANTIA Book or Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation is the fact that we truly love each other. We truly love each other and are concerned about one another. We are trying to walk more in the perfect will of God so that we hopefully won’t have any accidents that take us off the planet. But The URANTIA Book says accidents happen. If something happens to you, you don’t have to worry about who is going to take care of your children. We will. Divine Administration will take care of your children because we have a responsibility to do that. And so that is what we are about. So let’s keep that foremost in our minds, not just for our children, but we are trying to take care of all the children of the planet. That is what God will bless. We have to move outside of our immediate nuclear family and manifest the Father’s heart and His concern for the whole world. In this way we will receive God’s blessings, and He will see to it that it will happen. He is just looking for the right soldiers. God bless you.
